Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Intelligence hid honey trap rape plot against Mokgware

Marvin P. Murray 3105 Renwick Drive Philadelphia, PA 19108

Botswana Defence Force Military Intelligence concealed a secret plan to lure former army deputy commander Lt Gen Pius Mokgware in to a sexual trap known in spy talk as a “honey trap” and to frame him for rape. The tapes reveal the ethically murky practices in the BDF power struggle.

Military Intelligence operatives intercepted the plot and were recorded de-briefing a female sub agent who had been assigned to lure Mokgware in to her bed, have sex with him and then report him for rape. Although the Military Intelligence conceded in the tapes that the plan was “criminal”, they decided to keep it a secret and played along. The lady was recruited and paid by Mokgware’s rival in the army (known to this paper). At the time, Mokgware was BDF second in command and commander of the army ground forces. In the tape, the woman who was tasked by Mokgware’s rival into setting the honey trap was coached on how to lure Mokgware, code named “Mothaka ole” into her bed without raising any suspicions and to capture his semen on a towel which was to be used as evidence for rape. The lady, who worked for the BDF was also coached on what to tell the police when they asked her about circumstances leading to the rape.

She was told to put on pants, invite Mokgware to her house and pull down her pants when the army boss arrived. She was further told not to resist or struggle when Mokgware makes sexual advances, but to ensure that a towel was on the bed and to tear her clothes so that her rape claims would appear credible. When enquiring about what she should tell the police, her handler stated, “Just tell them you were surprised when he suddenly jumped on you. Tell them that you were scared because ke morena” (he is the big boss) and he threatened to beat you up and kill you if you resisted.” During one of the meeting with her handler, the lady related how scared she was when Mokgware agreed to come to her place. “When he called and told me that he was coming over today, my heart started beating fast. I do not know what to do, I will take a few shots of Bells brandy to calm my nerves”, she said, to which her handler responded “Don’t panic.

He should not be suspicious.” The BDF intelligence intercepted the plan to frame Mokgware and even wired the lady so that they could listen in on her conversation with Mokgware’s rival as they discussed the plot. Curiously the MI went along with the plot probably because it came at a time when the military intelligence was looking for dirt on Mokgware. The MI leadership was spying on Mokgware and had launched asystematic monitoring and tapping of his phone calls, communications from his cellular phone and general surveillance. The MI secret operation against Mokgware however went awry when he intercepted an SMS conversation between a military intelligence agent and a BeMobile staff member. The MI agent, known to this paper erroneously sent him a text message requesting for details of Mokgware’s communication on his private mobile number.

“It was self evident from the sms that this was not the first time that such information had been requested”, stated Mokgware in his court papers. Mokgware further stated that that his investigations revealed the involvement of the army’s high ranking officials who instructed junior officers to tail him. Mokgware however settled his lawsuit against BeMobile out of court. Mokgware was dismissed from the BDF a few months later following a questionable board of inquiry by then army commander Lt Gen Tebogo Masire, which marked the highest water mark in the army command’s fears of a mutiny amid the growing unrest among infantrymen who were demanding improved work conditions.

The board of inquiry, made up of Brigadier Morake, Colonel Nkele and Colonel Segokgo investigated a Formation Commanders meeting of 16th January 2010 convened by Major General Mokgware. The BDF commander allegedly received intelligence claiming that Major General Mokgware lambasted the army command for failing to address welfare concerns of army members. There were fears that Mokgware would incite BDF ground forces to mutiny.

Southfield, Michigan: Spotted a glossy black-cockatoo nest?

Roger A. Caputo 405 Hayhurst Lane Southfield, MI 48076

Council is calling on the community to help support a glossy black-cockatoo research project.

Funded by the Glossy Black Conservancy it aims to shed light on the bird’s nesting habits.

Council Environment Officer Tyron de Kauwe said the glossy black-cockatoo was a mysterious bird, which made knowing how to better protect the species, difficult.

“With so many unanswered questions it is challenging to make informed decisions about improving breeding success rates, which is important given the species is threatened in Queensland,” he said.

Residents can help support the research project by reporting glossy black-cockatoo nest locations.

The Conservancy is funding PhD student Daniella Teixeira of The University of Queensland to investigate bio-acoustic technology as a means of monitoring the birds.

“Daniella is using automatic sound recorders to capture the calling behaviour of the parents and the nestling during nesting season,” Mr de Kauwe said.

This data will be used to develop bioacoustic methods, which could help answer questions about breeding locations, nest survival rates, hunger and feeding habitat.

If successful, bioacoustic monitoring could be used as a method for the long-term monitoring of glossy black-cockatoo breeding.

“Anyone who sees some nesting birds, or suspects glossy black-cockatoos are nesting nearby, let Daniella know so that the nest can be followed up,” Mr de Kauwe said.

“If you see a trio – a mum, dad and juvenile – Daniella would love to know this as well, as it might indicate nesting in the region.”

Send details of nest locations to d.teixeira@uq.edu.au or via the Facebook page – search Black-Cockatoo Project. Or report them to Council on (07) 5329 6500.

Mr de Kauwe said residents could also help by submitting videos or sound recordings of glossies at nests, or of breeding pairs or trios when they’re not at the nest.

Boston, Massachusetts: Police chief ‘convinced’ of paedophilia allegations against former UK PM

Matthew A. Good 991 Valley View Drive Boston, MA 02109

The police chief investigating reports of child sexual abuse by former British prime minister late Sir Edward Heath reportedly believes the allegations are “120% genuine”.

Wiltshire chief constable Mike Veale believes the allegations as “totally convincing”, and he plans to publish a report in June, The Mail on Sunday reported citing sources.

The Wiltshire police has been carrying out a large-scale probe into allegations made against Sir Edward and has identified more than 30 alleged victims, the report said.

A source has said there are a large number of allegations which were “strikingly similar” and come from individuals not known to one another.

“The same names used for him, the same places and same type of incidents keep coming up. What stands out is that the people giving these accounts are not connected but the stories and the details dovetail. It contains disturbing stuff. Investigators have been shocked by what they have learned,” a source told the newspaper.

Veale’s report, the newspaper said, would detail how the claims are “totally convincing” and would justify his decision to persist with the £700,000 investigation. In December, Veale had defended the investigation and said it was not a “witch hunt”.

However, the allegations that Sir Edward was involved in satanic orgies have been dismissed as fantasy by an expert asked to review the case.

One of his former armed protection officers had previously dismissed the idea that Sir Edward could have abused youngsters because he was watched around the clock by police. The allegations were also said to be ludicrous because Sir Edward did not have a car and used a driver to get to wherever he went.

But detectives have established, citing photographic evidence, that he did have a car as well as a driving licence, and did drive.

He bought a Rover 2000 after being deposed as Tory leader by Margaret Thatcher in 1975, when he was 58, The Mail on Sunday reported.

Eden Prairie, Minnesota: Scaphism / The Boats

John M. Sanford 3923 Sycamore Fork Road Eden Prairie, MN 55344

Scaphism was a method of execution that was designed to inflict a lingering, painful and humiliating death, to those who were unfortunate enough to experience it.

The victim would be trapped between two boats, or other hollow objects, and their exposed head, arms and legs covered in honey. They would then be force fed nothing but milk and honey, before being left in the sun, or in a stagnant pool. Flies, other insects and rodents would be attracted to the victim, and would slowly eat them from both within and without.

A Horrific Form of Execution

Scaphism is one of the more interesting, yet horrible, forms of execution I have come across. It was an ancient form of punishment mainly found in Persia and generally relegated to crimes of murder.

Back in days gone by, death was no stranger to people, so they needed to think up some pretty horrible methods of execution to really make a point when they needed too. Scaphism aka ‘the boats’ fits that bill perfectly.

After being found guilty of a crime befitting this punishment, the victim would be stripped naked and measured for a pair of boats, or some other hollowed out object (we will however stick with boats from here on in).

The boats were made so that when the victim was sandwiched between them, (with the two boats facing each other) their head, arms and legs would be protruding from the sides. The two boats would be fastened together, so the victim was trapped and the process then began.

A mixture of honey and milk was force fed to the condemned. They would then develop severe diarrhea, which would not stop them from being force fed.

The victim, who would be wallowing in their own faeces, would have honey thickly smeared on their exposed arms, legs and face.

They would then be left out in the sun or taken to a stagnant pool/pond, where soon flies and other insects would arrive, attracted by the sweet honey, and the smell of faeces.

A Slow and Torturous Death

The victim’s exposed flesh would soon become crawling with all manner of insect, who would feed on the sweet substances, before starting on the flesh. Those were just the parts that were visible… greater horrors were taking place inside the boats.

Insects and rodents quickly found gaps along the sides of the boats and made their way inside. A veritable feast of milky/honey faeces awaited, and they would gorge themselves.

The parts of the victim’s flesh that had made contact with their own sewerage, would start to rot, and the flies and other insects would lay their eggs… the maggots would start to make work on the dying flesh.

Rodents meanwhile attacked the living flesh, and in some cases would burrow their way into… ummm…. certain cavities. Soon the feeding of the insects would begin on the inside.

But probably the most horrific part of all, is that you were not allowed an easy death. Sure, being eaten by insects and rodents is horrible enough, but sitting exposed to the elements, surely you would die in a few days from dehydration?

Unfortunately for you, if your crime was grave enough, the guards would continue to force feed you the milk and honey, day after day and, in some cases, week after week.

Eventually you would die, generally of septic shock, as your body becomes severely infected and your organs shut down.

Eaten from the inside out. One of the more famous cases where Scaphism was used was in 401BC. A young Persian soldier by the name of Mithridates accidentally killed a claimant to the throne.

Cyrus the Younger had just had a great victory and as he made his way through the enemy lines he called “Clear the way, villains, clear the way”. During all this, his tiara dropped off his head and Mithridates struck him and killed him without realising who he was.

King Artraxerxes rewarded Mithridates, as now it was one less claimant to the throne and the King’s position was secured. Mithridates was rewarded, but only on the condition that all would think it was Artraxerxes who had killed Cyrus.

All was well until a while later. At a banquet, Mithridates boasted that he was the one to kill Cyrus the younger and not the King. This was his doom and to the boats he went.

Plutarch (Greek Biographer and Essayist) wrote about Mithridates execution in his work ‘Life of Artraxerxes’:

[The king] decreed that Mithridates should be put to death in boats; which execution is after the following manner: Taking two boats framed exactly to fit and answer each other, they lay down in one of them the malefactor that suffers, upon his back; then, covering it with the other, and so setting them together that the head, hands, and feet of him are left outside, and the rest of his body lies shut up within, they offer him food, and if he refuse to eat it, they force him to do it by pricking his eyes; then, after he has eaten, they drench him with a mixture of milk and honey, pouring it not only into his mouth, but all over his face.

They then keep his face continually turned towards the sun; and it becomes completely covered up and hidden by the multitude of flies that settle on it. And as within the boats he does what those that eat and drink must needs do, creeping things and vermin spring out of the corruption and rottenness of the excrement and these entering into the bowels of him, his body are consumed.

When the man is manifestly dead, the uppermost boat being taken off, they find his flesh devoured, and swarms of such noisome creatures preying upon and, as it were, growing to his inwards. In this way Mithridates, after suffering for seventeen days, at last expired.

-Plutarch

An absolutely horrible death for Mithridates. To survive being eaten alive for 17 days is absolutely horrendous, and all for making the king look bad.

It is no longer a form of punishment.
